This February 27h, the Friends of Animal Care & Control in Arizona will benefit from the 13th annual Hero Awards. This gala celebrates humans and animals alike for heroic action, stories of survival and companionship.

The mission of Friends (of Animal Care & Control) is to provide free and accessible spay and neuter services in the community, which reduces the amount of stray and abandoned animals out of shelters. Since 2006, the site announces they have prevented 22,000 animals from having their lives lost in area shelters.
Last years event featured a red carpet entrance, cocktail hour, dinner with speeches and awards, and special guest Barry Switzer.
This years event is presented by PetSmart Charities.
